Harrisâ year wait to clear his name
KOTA KINABALU: Along with the families of the victims of the âDouble Sixâ plane crash, one man is eagerly awaiting the release of the incidentâs full report to put an end to what he calls 46 years of âslanderâ against his alleged involvement in the incident.
Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh (pic), who succeeded Tun Fuad Stephens in the position after the latter and 10 others perished in the crash involving the Australian-made Nomad 9M-ATZ aircraft, said he hoped the report would be declassified in its full form next week.

âI hope the publication of the investigation report of the tragic crash on June 6, , will not be redacted in any way and will satisfy all those who have repeatedly slandered and indirectly accused me of involvement in the accident, particularly around the annual memorial service,â he said in a statement here yesterday.
Harris said he had suffered for over 46 years because of accusations and slander by a number of Sabah leaders.

Tinjauan kajian ini berlatar belakangkan pembangunan Sabah semasa penjajahan Syarikat Borneo Utara British (Syarikat Berpiagam) sehinggalah pemerintahan kerajaan pimpinan Tun Datu Mustapha Bin Datu Harun. Ia ditambah dengan sedikit pengenalan kepada perkembangan politik Sabah semasa Datuk Harris Salleh mentadbir. Dasar dalam pembangunan dan agensi kerajaan yang melaksanakan pembangunan ekonomi turut dijelaskan.
