President Confers Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award at 18th PBD
President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to the recipient at the 18th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention in Bhubaneshwar Odisha on 10 January
The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention was held in Bhubaneswar on th January Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Convention on 8th January and the valedictory session was addressed by President Droupadi Murmu.
Since ,9th January has been observed as Pravasi Divas in India to mark the return of Mahatma Gandhi to India on this day in from South Africa.
The Ministry of External Affairs organises the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention and since it has been organised after every two years.

The government of India instituted the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman to honour Non-Resident Indians(NRI), Persons of India Origin(PIO), and institutions /organisations established by them for their exemplary achievements in India or abroad.
