ISLAMABAD: The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus on Thursday hosted a discussion with Mishal Malik, the wife of detained Hurriyat leader Yaseen Malik in order to highlight the human rights violations in Kashmir and the plight of Kashmir women and children.
The session at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Studies (Pips) was attended by diplomats, representatives of the civil society, students and parliamentarians.
At the start of the event, Pips presented a slideshow of pictures of the atrocities committed against the Kashmiri people.
During her talk, Ms Malik said all the women of an entire village were gang raped regardless of their age after the men are forced out of their homes. She said killings, gang rapes and molestation by the Indian forces has become the order of the day.
She referred to a study conducted by Doctors without Borders in which it was revealed that Kashmiri women suffer the most sexual violence in the world.
