Puneeth was born on 17th March in Madras, Tamilnadu. He entered the industry when he was six months old. Although he hails from Madras, he was brought up in Bengalaru. He left his studies in order to work in the cinema but later achieved a diploma in computer science privately. He has a family background where all his brothers, as well as his father, are involved in the same industry. As a child artist, Puneeth worked in movies like ‘Geetha and Bhagyavantha’. He was applauded for his performance as a child and received national film award for best child artist.
Puneeth Rajkumar colloquially known as Appu, King Appu, and Power Star was an Indian actor, playback singer, television presenter, philanthropist, and producer who worked in Kannada films.
At the age of six months, Rajkumar was seen on the big screen as a child artist in the thriller Premada Kanike (). The film's director, V. Somasekhar selected him for a role, with his father playing the male lead. The following year, when Rajkumar was just one year old, he was cast in Sanadhi Appanna (), another film featuring his father in the lead role, alongside Jaya Prada and T.N. Balakrishna.
Between and , Rajkumar featured in multiple films and established himself as a successful child actor. In , he acted and recorded his first hit song "Baana Daariyalli Soorya" in the film in the film Bhagyavantha (). The song was composed by T.G. Lingappa.
Rajkumar was awarded the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Child Actor (Male) for his performance in Chelisuva Modagalu (). He also received his second Karnataka State Film Award in the same category for his role in Eradu Nakshatragalu ().
Rajkumar's biggest breakthrough as a child actor came with the film Bettada Hoovu ().

He was born on March 17, , and passed away on October 29, He was the youngest child of matinee idol and actor Dr. Rajkumar. Among the most well-liked actors in Kannada cinema was him.
He starred in thirty-two motion pictures. He had numerous film appearances as a child. He received praise for his child acting roles in the films Vasantha Geetha (), Bhagyavantha (), Chalisuva Modagalu (), Eradu Nakshatragalu (), Bhakta Prahaladha (), Yarivanu (), and Bettada Hoovu ().[2] For his performance as Ramu in Bettada Hoovu, he was honored with the National Film Award for Best Child Artist.

Puneeth made his film debut as the lead in Appu in He has received one National Film Award, four Karnataka State Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and five SIIMA awards throughout the course of a three-decade career.
