Blinking Red LED on Front

I came home from work today and found out that the house lost power. I noticed that the My Cloud device had a blinking red LED on the front. I powered it down, waited a few minutes and plugged it in. It started with the standard blinking blue LED and changed to the blinking red LED. I have tried to access it via the address and the folder on my computer and I cannot reach it. I looked through the manual and other forums and nothing mentions a blinking red LED only solid one. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix the issue?

My guess is that the new manual is wrong, and the ‘Attention’ state should be blinking red, not solid; it used to be blinking yellow.
So it may be your router; check the Ethernet LEDs, too.

So I did a reboot on my router and I looked physically looked at the lights on my router. The port that it is plugged into is showing green link lights. I even switched it to each of the other 3 ports and it they all show green link lights but the problem still persist. This morning when I got up I noticed the power LED light was a constant red (not flashing).
I can’t find anything wrong, I can log onto the system just fine. I did a test both on system and hard drives and both tests passed. I have the 12 TB system using RAID 1, when I logon to the system it says I have gig left

Yes I can. Everything is normal. I can play my music on my smart phone. I just don’t understand what’s going on with this red light

What My Cloud model do you have? For the single bay/single drive My Cloud models (the subject of this subforum) a red LED usually indicates a problem with the drive (like overheating) or the Ethernet cable not being connected. You may want to check the user manual for your My Cloud model to see if the solid red front LED means something specific.

Well that’s what I thought. But when I log on everything seems to be fine, it says I have gigs left
when I turned in last night everything was fine. All lights were blue. I have nothing new on

It&#;s not to say they are altogether junk, but they do tend to be prone to drive failures given that green drives go to a hibernate state during long periods of inactivity, rather than a simple drop in rotational speed like the Red drives offer. This causes the drive to have to access the service area (firmware code) stored on the platters more often than other NAS devices. All of that extra activity can lead to premature failure due to firmware corruption or bad sectors in the service area.
How will you know if your NAS has failed? Usually we all first notice this due to inaccessibility of the data, at which point we try power cycling the router, modem, and finally the NAS itself. Then we notice something strange&#;. a glowing solid red light.

Hi there,
Today I found WD My Cloud’s power light turns into red and keeps blinking. I checked the router and I found that I am unable to access the dashboard anymore. Can you guys face such issue before? If yes ,what’s the solution?

First you need to determine which generation of My Cloud you have, a 1st generation () or 2nd () and look in the correct User Manual at LEDs. Use link below.

I have found that mine is second generation. The temperature is ok and the router is working properly, I replaced a new ethernet cable. So I think it might below reasons that red LED blinking. So what should I do next step?
